Position Overview:
  • The Agile Product Owner represents the voice of the Group Insurance customer and client at the team level, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog, to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all end users.
  • This role will focus on the Salesforce.com application supporting the Sales and Underwriting domains within Group.
  • Must have strong business skills and experience working with technology teams as well as Salesforce.com experience.
  • In order to be considered, must be highly motivated, driven to succeed, have proven IT leadership skills, Salesforce.com experience, and have demonstrated expertise in managing large scale IT application delivery and quality engineering in a matrixed environment.
  • Are an accomplished product owner and skilled problem solver who can motivate change as well as a strategic thinker who understands the big picture.
Responsibilities:
  • Full accountability for execution of assigned user stories and associated products / deliverables. Comfortable participating in and supporting development and testing and production support teams.
  • Engage with Scrum Master and team members on a regular basis to ensure assigned features are fully executed within the prescribed Program Increment.
  • Hold all appropriate Product Owner ceremonies as necessary (PI Planning, Grooming, Demo, etc.).
  • Engage Solution Architects and System Architects to understand potential impacts and for design solution discussions.
  • Have a vision on how the Salesforce.com application for client GBS will benefit and help define business processes.
  • Understanding of Salesforce.com Lightning objects, flows, user configuration, components, and reporting.
  • Lead prioritization of work for delivery team based on business value and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Responsible for user story management, including accurate story descriptions and acceptance criteria.
  • Comfortable with escalating risks to Product Manager.
  • Disciplined with scope management; partners with other product owners to assess and evaluate changes for feasibility and impacts on commitments.
  • Negotiates and manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved.
  • Builds an environment of trust, collaboration, and openness among peers and other team members. Shares lessons learned, perceptions, and best practices openly with an eye towards continuous process improvement.
  • Proposes recommendations and adjustments to project delivery and related solutions throughout the life of the initiative.
  • Communicates clearly with all levels of stakeholders to ensure deliverables are hit.
  • Can articulate tradeoffs and impacts with the big picture in mind to enable strategic and tactical decision making as well as mitigate risk.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to partner with Product Manager to decompose Program Epic work requirements and priorities into features.
  • Ability to create detailed user stories for these defined features.
  • 5 to 10 years of technology project experience is required.
  • Salesforce.com experience is required; Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud experience is desired.
  • A proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Ability to navigate a fast paced, highly matrixed organization effectively.
  • Proven ability to present and communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.
  • Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
  • Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Experienced or retains advanced knowledge of multiple IT disciplines including software designs and architecture patterns, quality assurance methods, requirement gathering, business process engineering, etc.
